via PC to Phone
Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) also called IP Telephony or Internet telephony "is the routing of voice conversations over
the Internet or through any other IP-based network" (Wikipedia).
VoIP sends voice via the Internet. The PC to Phone service uses your computer connected with the Internet to make calls to ordinary
telephones around the world. While traditional phone calls are done through the fixed lines, VoIP calls go over the Internet with the
more efficient method of packet switching.
The main advantage of VOIP is a low cost. Making phone calls via PC, you avoid long-distance charges imposed upon by the big
telecommunication companies and many of the governmental taxes and fees as well. In the total you have an extraordinarily cheap

To begin to use PC to phone calls, all you need are the computer, sound card, headphones or external speakers, microphone, and the
Internet connection 64 Kbps +. The next thing is to choose a PC to Phone services provider. They provide
the software and infrastructure necessary to make calls to traditional telephones through the Internet.
As soon as you chose services provider, you will need to open an account and deposit funds into that account. Then you will need to
download and install a softphone or a 'dialer' application from your service provider. A dialer is an interface program through which
you dial the number. It takes a few minutes to download.
